Seaside fun brought to Maple Cross JMI School

On Saturday 10th of July saw Maple Cross JMI School’s annual summer fair again filling the playground with stalls, people, music and fun.

In addition to the numerous stalls crowds were delighted to see the performances of the schools’s children, organised by year 6. The children also thoroughly enjoyed the bouncy castles, train rides, bean bag games and the tombola.

The theme this year was at the seaside and one of our PTA even created a shark for the children to stand behind and have their pictures which was enjoyed by all. We even had sand, buckets and spades, however, luckily didn’t see any seagulls circling for our burgers.

We are pleased to announce we have raised £1364.92 profit which will be used to purchase Wish List items for the school. We would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped run the stalls and organised external stall holders to attend. The event was enjoyed by all.

All profit from PTA events will be made available to the school, recent purchased include:

  • Year 6 Leavers sweatshirts
  • Repairing the children’s bike shelter
  • Helping Year 5’s project to create our pond area into the “Ann Shaw Friendship Garden”

This is the last of the PTA events for the 2016-2017 school term but we will be back in September organising the Family Photo Day, Quiz night, Fireworks and Christmas Fair. If you would like to get involved, please speak to your class rep or email our Chair on Maplecrossjmipta@hotmail.co.uk
